America's
Singing Poet!
BIOGRAPHY
Steve DePass is a master of
improvisation and in concerts and night clubs actually creates much of
his show as he goes along. Steve's songs are amusing, profound,
rhythmic, lyrical and beautiful. He has appeared on the Mike Douglas
Show, Tonight Show, Merv Griffin, and the Ed Sullivan Show among
others. He has appeared at hotels throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico
and in concert he has performed at The White House, Carnegie Hall and
Town Hall in NYC. The most intriguing thing about Steve DePass is that
his appeal as an entertainer extends universally to people of all
ages. He is a poet, a singer and
a composer. He actually invents songs on the spot using topics
suggested by his audience. These songs are at once witty, poignant,
satirical, humorous or philosophical and often consist of complicated
rhymes and sophisticated ideas.
Because of his uncanny ability to improvise and ad lib, Vice President
Nelson Rockefeller once referred to Steve DePass as the Carl Sandburg
of our time. |
