To answer the question comics seem to get the most, yes I write my own stuff. My material is relatively on the clean side but not overly safe. (I use language if it fits into what I'm doing, but very sparingly) and I emphasize being original. I work toward having an act that is uniquely mine.

I was once quoted in the New York Times, commenting on the state of politcal comedy as it relates to development of new material.) The quote is 14 words long! Wow...
