The Amazing Johnathan, dubbed "The
Freddy Krueger of Comedy," is fast becoming known as the most original
and bizarre act to emerge from this era. His fast paced razor wit and
tornado like approach to magic is making him a legend throughout the
world.
The Amazing Johnathan is instantly recognizable from his record number
of appearances on Fox's Comic Strip Live, The
Arsenio Hall Show, HBO's Young Comedians Special, Showtime,, Late
Night with David Lettermen, Entertainment Tonight, NBC's Worlds
Greatest Magic II, World's Wildest Magic, ABC's Caesar Palace's 30th
Anniversary Special, Champion's of Magic, and three of his
own half-hour specials for Comedy Central entitled,
Lounge Lizards, Premium Blend, and
his new Comedy Central Presents:
The Amazing Johnathan. Rolling Stone Magazine has named him, "one of
the top road comics working today," and Johnathan is also the two time
winner of Best Comic Magician of the Year
by the World Magic Awards
which aired on Fox-TV.
Johnathan's other credit include performing for
President Reagan at the 1986 Statue of Liberty
Celebration. In 1990 Merv Griffin
approached Johnathan about creating a game show based around
Johnathan's live show. Together they created
RUCKUS, the wildest game show ever aired. 65 episodes of
Ruckus were taped for WNBC in Atlantic City at Resorts International
in front of 700 screaming fans. That made it the largest audience in
game show history. It is currently seen on
The Game Show Network.
In the past few years, many things have changed for The Amazing
Johnathan Show. His new assistant and partner, Psychic Tanya, has
taken the show in another direction. She plays the perfect foil to
AJ's misdirected illusions and is so superbly funny that both the
critics and the audiences are going crazy for this new comic
partnership. If you haven't witnessed this new dynamic duo...GO SEE
IT!
The Amazing Johnathan has currently made Las Vegas his home because of
a lucrative deal at the Golden Nugget Casino
during 2001-2002. For almost 2 years, Johnathan broke all house
records for attendance at the downtown casino. The Review Journal
dubbed AJ "The Savior of Downtown" because he brought the
entertainment scene back to Fremont Street where it had been dead for
the past 10 years. He was also recently awarded
"Comedian of the Year" and made it into the prestigious
"Top 10 Vegas Shows."
In January, AJ left The Golden Nugget and signed a multi-million
dollar, one year deal with the legendary
Flamingo Hotel/Casino where he headlines the beautiful 740
seat showroom. |
